All the children gathered in the playground, Miss Daly welcomed everyone and introduced the schedule for the week. Each child was told about Active Homework and they were given a record sheet to record their activities. Local sporting hero, Brid Gordan was invited to the school to open our Active School Week. She spoke to the children about the importance of being active and the numerous ways to achieve this. Brid is a past pupil of Blackwater, she spoke about her time in the school and how the school was active back then. She encouraged the children to get active by doing what they enjoy. She wished everyone a great week and we were very grateful to have her here to help us kick off the week.
