Welcome to Scoil Naomh Bríde

As Principal of the school it is my pleasure to welcome you to the website of Scoil Naomh Bríde. I would like to thank you for taking the time to explore our site and hope that you find it helpful in gaining an insight into our wonderful school.

On January 7 of 1970, the roll was first called at Scoil Naomh Bríde Blackwater. Excited children sat at their desks for the first time following an amalgamation of Killahard, Ballyvaldon and Blackwater National Schools.

Since then Scoil Naomh Bríde has educated several generations of Blackwater families and children as well as pupils from the surrounding areas. It is a school rich in tradition and talents and in an effort to develop intellectual, physical, cultural, moral, emotional and spiritual wellbeing, we constantly endeavour to provide best practice in education for all our pupils at Scoil Naomh Bríde. We believe that a broad balanced educational experience within a caring environment promotes positive attitudes towards learning enabling each of our pupils to recognise their talents and achieve their full potential.

We have a superb, dedicated, enthusiastic teaching team where the focus is always on the holistic development of every student to reach to their potential. There are a large number of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities in which all students are encouraged to participate. Student Leadership and Student Voice are very important in the daily life of the school and this can be seen through the excellent work of our Student Council.

We work in very close partnership with parents in order to help students realise their full potential and enjoy their experience as a student in Scoil Naomh Bríde and we are blessed with a very active and supportive Parents Association.

We hope you enjoy looking at our website.
