Free for all Friday

To finish off our Active Week we decided to have a Free for all Friday. This involved the classes having an afternoon off from classwork activities, instead they spent the afternoon outside and getting involved in various leagues organised by the class teachers.
Junior and Senior Infants had stations set up and they got to use lots of the school equipment such as hula hoops, bean bags, javelins and skipping ropes.
First and Second class took part in a soccer league on our all weather pitch. Each of the classes were split into teams and they had a fun competition which was refereed by Miss Corboy and Miss Doyle. Well done to all.
Third and Fourth class had lots of fun getting involved in a basketball league, which was set up and run by our principal Mrs O Brien and class teacher Mr Foran. The children showed great skills and determination. This was great practice for the annual summer basketball league which is starting in May. Stay tuned for more of this.
Finally Fifth and Sixth class headed up to the local sports field with their class teachers Mr Moran and Miss Torpey. While they were up there they ran a couple of GAA football matches. This was a great way to see the boys and girls showcasing their skills and having fun altogether.
